“The thread of life woven into the web of life”.
“Nurture” is a further development of my ideas regarding fertility; the ties of mother and fetus, the meaning of nurture, feeding and ripeness. The lining of the womb, layers of ink soaked muslin created a soft nurturing environment for the fetus. Deep red, burnt sienna and crimson used separately or in combination added depth to the colour of the cloth. Nestled amongst the folds lies an unborn baby attached by its umbilical cord.
